The website MotorAuthority speaks of that the English company Ineos Automotive wants to bring back the Land Rover Defender. He should then call himself "Ineos Grenadier" and would probably be an alternative for anyone who finds the new Land Rover Defender too modern. Now the plans are apparently more concrete and it is said that the old Defender with ladder frame, rigid axles and BMW engine will be back on the road in two years. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has not yet issued a statement on this. On the contrary, until recently it was vehemently denied. Now the plans seem more concrete.

Headquartered in London, the Ineos Group is hoping to get the rights to Defender design with founder Jim Ratcliffe. Under the name of Ineos Grenadier The new edition will then be built in Welsh Bridgend. Planned are rich 25.000 vehicles from 2024 and the grenadier should stand on a ladder frame and rigid axles as well as three differential locks are obtained annually. Not to be missed of course, a permanent four-wheel drive and a modern aluminum body should clearly remember the Defender. But the most important detail is the drive. Ineos speaks of BMW engines. A partnership would probably already be signed. And the price? Various sources speak of about 35.000 Euro for the base model.
Of course that had not happened yet!
