World record: 166 km / h in the + 1.000 PS JCB Fastrac tractor

After the Honda lawnmower record The next completely crazy piece of information reaches us. Motorcycle racer and TV presenter Guy Martin drove an incredible 166,7 km / h with the JCB Fastrac “tractor”. With a tractor? Yes exactly! Of course not with just any tractor. After the rally world champion Juha Kankkunen made it to 2015 km / h with the Valtra T234 in 130,165, there was a real hype about the lawn with the tractor. Last year "The Stig" from the cult car show "Top Gear" broke this record again and steered its converted "Track Gate" to 140,335 km / h. But even this record is now history. The British agricultural and construction machinery manufacturer JCB has reached the mark of 103,6 mph with the Fastrac, which corresponds to the aforementioned 166,7 km / h. But it is apparently not an "official" world record because the British company has so far only spoken of a "British speed record". The JCB Fastrac drove on the Elvington Airfield near York and delivers insane 1.014 PS and a maximum torque of 2.500 NM thanks to the 7,2 liter displacement and 6 cylinders.

especially the aerodynamics are striking

But not only the performance was decisive. With the help of the Formula 1 team Williams Advanced Engineering one has improved the aerodynamics and reduced the weight. There was a special chassis and of course high performance tires that withstand both the weight and the high speed. Yet they were not road tires but usable grobstollige off-road tires. We are pretty sure that with a once again revised six-speed box from ZF (was swapped for the CVT transmission) as well as road tires which are not reachable by 200 km / h. If we receive timely information on further technical details of the JCB Fastrac, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if yours is just ours Feed subscribe to.
