On 01.06.2018 has Lego Technic Team the Bugatti Chiron with the Product 42083 for the price of about 300 € in the scale 1: 8 brought into the market. The model has been working closely with Bugatti Automobiles SAS and comes with details such as low-profile tires, detailed disc brakes, W16 engine with moving pistons, cockpit with LEGO Technic 8-speed gearbox, moving paddle shifters and a true-to-the-original steering wheel with Bugatti emblem. But now LEGO is adding one more thing. The Klötzchenbauer actually recreated the French super sports car in original size with their stones. And he drives !!!

To prove it, Lego has even engaged the same test driver (Andy Wallace), who also accompanied the development phase of the original. Although the Lego variant runs no 420 km / h, but at least it managed the block car to 20 km / h and maximum 30 km / h should be in it. Visually, the built-in engine looks indeed after 16 cylinders, 8 liters displacement and 1.500 PS, which built in it 2.304 LEGO toy electric motors that 4.032 Gears and the 2.016 Axes bring it but in the end only on 5,3 PS and 92 Newtonmeter torque. Nevertheless considerable in terms of the material. A little bit you had in this project but synonymous of the material Plastic move away.

To give the vehicle stability, there is a frame and axles made of steel. The braking system comes from a go-kart and the power steering from an off-road vehicle. The rims and tires are "ORIGINAL" from Bugatti and the same applies to the emblem. And of course the power transmission and the batteries are not in the Lego catalog either. The 1 million plastic building blocks, on the other hand, do! Some were first colored in Bugatti blue, but only a few had to be completely redeveloped. In an insane 13.438 working hours, the only mobile Bugatti replica made from Lego bricks was created, which is impressive, especially from a distance, and can hardly be distinguished from the original.

Incidentally, Lego points out that in the 1: 1 model no Drop of glue was used. Each component holds in the conventional way and with a weight of 1,5 tons (at least 500kg less than the original). Another technical highlight are the variable adjusting cylinders that sit between the shell and structure of the model. With a specially designed screwdriver made from Lego parts, the workers adjust the cylinders to pre-programmed dimensions to guarantee a perfect fit. Care has even been taken to ensure that the rear spoiler remains adjustable in height and angle, and the interior, including the removable steering wheel, is based on the original in every detail.
