Need for Speed Heat - A must for virtual racing and tuning fans?

After 2 years without a racing game from the NFS series, it was finally time again, the developer studio Ghost Games launched Need Feed Speed Heat, the successor to the controversial predecessor NFS Payback. For most, Payback was a big disappointment after the previous version Need for Speed became such a hit. The driving behavior was revolutionized, but with Payback the makers made some mistakes. A big point was the lack of the co-op campaign, instead something could only be traveled around the world together. Presenting your own car and only driving against your friend is not enough for real NFS players. They want to go into the race with their individually tuned cars and defeat the CPU opponent.

The messed up tuning system at Payback - more gambling than targeted tuning

A crucial point was the tuning, because in the previous version you could win better car parts if you were lucky by winning races. The whole thing could prove to be tough, especially at the beginning, because if you didn't have luck on your side, you wouldn't be able to get any fast racing cars that could outrun the competition. Instead, many players started repeating races they had already completed and hoping for better luck in the raffle for the new tuning part. If you were a little unlucky, you only got parts that you ultimately couldn't do anything with other than sell them for little money. Another option was to visit the tuner itself, where individual parts could be purchased. However, the random principle applied here again, which is why no parts upgrade was guaranteed. The content on the tuner was then changed randomly every 15 minutes. So if you were unlucky, you could park your car in front of the tuner for 45 minutes to an hour and try your luck at serioes.org during that time, because even with online poker you have more influence on your success than with random tuning parts in NFS Payback . With the new Need for Speed the whole thing is about to change again, because Ghost Games is returning to its roots and its old tuning system.

The new tuning system at Need for Speed - Heat

For tuning fans, the new NFS Heat is a real must, because here the makers resort to the old tuning system and expand it even further. NFS has always been known for being able to do a lot of tuning, but with the new spin-off of the racing game series, you can hardly find anything that cannot be adjusted. NFS offers an incredible variety of tuning options.

  • performance Tuning
  • Optics tuning
  • Live tuning - tuning on the go
  • Design takeover of other players

Performance tuning is crucial for success in the game, because if you want to be successful quickly, you need performance. Here, the engine, chassis and drive are divided into 3 different categories. There are also other auxiliary items.

The most important optimizations for better performance are carried out under the item "Motor". Among other things, there are also various sub-items here:

  • crankshaft
  • Cooling
  • Exhaust
  • Controller
  • Turbo
  • nitro system

Further optimizations can now be made under "Chassis". Here, the changes are not considered performance tuning, but rather an adaptation of the car's racing characteristics.

  • Suspension
  • Brakes
  • Tubes

There is also the Drive option, where adjustments to the clutch, gearbox and differential can be made. In addition, the respective parts are again available in different versions. The higher the level of the part, the more performance and quality is ultimately behind it. The goal is to have finally installed all parts in the form of "Ultimate".

  • Standard
  • Sport
  • Pro
  • Super
  • Elite
  • ultimately

NFS Heat Studio app for tuning friends

If you can't play on the console or PC at the moment, but would like to change the design of your vehicles on the go, you can do this with the new companion app. The app is available for IOS as well as Android. However, only the design can be changed; performance tuning is not yet possible.

And finally ... For gaming fans of racing, Need for Speed is again a must. After the failed predecessor, the makers seem to have put the focus back on the old recipe for success. For this reason, NFS Heat is an absolute must, especially for racing and tuning friends. When playing with friends, the time in the open racing world now flies again. The variety of different racing and tuning categories is immense, which is why boredom will not arise so quickly.
