A Volvo as a used car? Why not!

Volvo used cars

A Volvo as a used car? Why not!Volvo used cars are definitely sought-after vehicles, some models are extremely endurance runners. The Volvo 850, for example, easily manages 300.000 km and a lot more. The Swedish manufacturer is now 90 years old, and the first Volvo (an ÖV 4 called “Jacob”) rolled off the assembly line in Gothenburg on April 14, 1927.

What do Volvo used cars offer?

Volvo is now owned by the Chinese vehicle group Geely, and the quality has been preserved. Volvo SUVs have been a hit in recent years, but the demand for new and used vehicles is very different, which probably has to do primarily with the regions of origin of the buyers. In northern Germany, for example, Volvo is much more popular than in the south. This has absolutely nothing to do with the reliability, the vehicles are considered first-class even with a few years on the hump and a few kilometers on the speedometer. It is simply the buyers' preferences for the “Swedish tank”. Apparently, the closer the region is to Sweden, the more they are bought. In the northernmost Schleswig-Holstein, the demand of 1,19% under all brands is almost twice as high as in the southern states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg (both 0,62%). The Volvo is even further down with 0,54% in Saarland. Lower central Germany is in the lower middle field with 0,68% (Rhineland-Palatinate) to 0,8% (Saxony), and to the north the interest increases again.

How are Volvos in demand in the cities?

With regard to the demand in German cities, it is unmistakable that there is the greatest interest in Swedish cars in the north: it is highest in the northernmost Flensburg (1,14%), followed immediately by Lübeck (0,99 percent). In Kiel 0,76% of buyers choose a Volvo, in between Münster and Hamburg it is 0,68 to 0,76%.

Which Volvo models are popular?

The most popular Volvo in Germany and also in Austria is the 240 model, which is available as a two-door, four-door and station wagon - it was built until 1993. This is followed closely by the Volvo 1998, which was manufactured until 940. The buyers' favorites are similar in Germany and Austria. There are only differences in the Volvo 850 and Volvo XC90 models, which are more in demand in Austria. In Germany, however, the Volvo S40 sells better. In the Netherlands people like the Volvo 240, 940 and 850 equally, while the French and Spaniards buy fewer Volvos, but strongly prefer the Volvo 850, in France also the Volvo S80. In Italy the Volvo C30 is the favorite, in Belgium the Volvo XC90. They were not enough numbers for you? An extremely extensive statistic has the team of autoscout24.de worked out for you.

  1. Thank you for the good information about the used car. The Volvos are generally considered tanks on the used car market. My favorite are the old models that were really angular.

I always spent my summer holidays in the Netherlands. You can see a lot of Volvos there. My friend said that there were extremely popular cars with a very good reputation. He would also buy a Volvo as a used car if he had a choice.

  3. I would also like to buy a used car and find out beforehand which models I like. My father always drove a Volvo and was very happy. I have an appointment next week to view a 240 model. It's amazing that this is the most popular model in Germany and Austria.

  4. Interesting that a Volvo is suitable as a used car. It is interesting that the popularity can be graded geographically, since many more such cars are bought in the north of Germany than in the south. I also want to buy a car, this time it should really be a used one.

  5. Good to know that the most popular Volvo in Germany and also in Austria is the 240 model, which has not been produced since 1993. My uncle is a huge fan of the Volvo 240 model right now. Since this is no longer in production, he decided to buy a piece of it as a used car.

  6. We would like to buy a used car in Offenburg. Gladly a Volvo, as these are big enough for our family. Good to know that the 240 model is very popular and is also available as a 4-door.

I was also considering buying a new used car. I thought of a Volvo. I didn't even know that the Volvo is much more popular in Germany in the north than in the south. Since I'm in the south, I probably won't see so many others!

I want to get a used car. Good to know that you also have to look around for suitable offers in the vicinity of Germany. I will find out more on the Internet.
