Vehicles of the Max Kruse Racing Team equipped with PROTRACK ONE win their class in the 24h race on the Nürburgring. Right at the debut, the team was able to achieve a double victory in the SP 3T class in the classic, which was significantly shortened due to fog. The 49th edition of the legendary 24h race on the Nürburgring Nordschleife has certainly made its place in the history books. Due to heavy, persistent fog, the race management put around a third of the 25,378 km long route under code 60 on Saturday evening, which in turn led to the tires cooling down significantly. The resulting safety risk ultimately led to the race being interrupted on Saturday at around 21:30 p.m., which was maintained until Sunday at 12:00 p.m. And so the 10.000 admitted spectators in the grandstands experienced what is effectively the shortest 9,5-hour race of all time with 59 hours and only 24 racing laps.

Fortunately, the Max Kruse Racing Team was not particularly impressed by these circumstances. The VW Golf GTI TCR with starting number 10, driven by Benny Leuchter, Andy Gülden, Nick Hancke and Christian Gebhardt, achieved an undisputed victory in the SP3T class despite the adverse weather conditions and the nerve-wracking interruption. The sister vehicle with the starting number 333 in the line-up of Jasmin Preisig, Frédéric Yerly, Gustavo Xavier and Matthias Wasel completed the double victory. In the overall standings, both VW Golf GTI TCRs of the Max Kruse Racing Team finished 36th and 39th out of 121 vehicles that started. During qualifying and the race, the two front-wheel drive vehicles were equipped with the light and stable PROTRACK ONE flow-forming motorsport bikes in the size 10.5 x 18 "at the front and 10.0 x 18" at the rear.

Driver Benny Leuchter (Volkswagen brand ambassador, test and development driver) was overwhelmed after the race: “After two one-two victories in the first two races of the NLS season, now a one-two at this year's highlight. To win the class straight away with the first participation in the 24h race is of course an overwhelming success for the Max Kruse Racing Team and all of its partners. The stable and torsion-resistant racing bikes from PROTRACK have again contributed to improving the extremely high performance of the vehicle even under these adverse conditions. Now we're looking forward to the second half of the NLS season. "

And Christoph Penisch, Managing Director of PROTRACK GmbH, paid his respects: “With the double victory at the prestigious 24h race at the Nürburgring, the Max Kruse Racing Team once again demonstrated the passion and professionalism with which the team works. We are pleased that by equipping both vehicles with our lightweight flow forming wheels, we were able to contribute to the outstanding performance of the team. We congratulate the drivers, mechanics and everyone involved on this great success! "
