Cause of brake dust burn-in
The dust from your brakes destroys the paint layer on your aluminum rims and damages the aluminum. If this brake dust burns into the aluminum of the rims, the paint will be severely damaged. Even a clear coat does not withstand these loads in the long term. Most tuning fans try to use aggressive rim cleaners to deal with the burned-in brake dust. As a rule, these products are advertised as gentle on paints and acid-free. The problem is, however, that these acid-free cleaners are mostly lyes, which has the same effect on your rims as if you washed your eye sand with a soapy water in the morning. The clear varnish intended to protect the rim is gradually destroyed by the various cleaning agents. The rims get dirty again faster and the dirt adheres more strongly to the attacked surfaces. The cleaning must be repeated more often, which leads to a progressive destruction of the protective layer, until a complete overhaul of the aluminum rims is finally necessary.
Sustainability of rim seals.
You have probably heard in advertising that there is a permanent solution for sealing and protecting your rims. On closer inspection, however, the packaging then regularly states that it is necessary to repeat the rim sealing process every 4 - 6 weeks. However, it would be desirable to ensure permanent protection without having to buy and reapply a product at regular intervals.
Why should you seal rims?
As is well known, your aluminum rims are next to the tires, the four components of your car that come closest to the road and thus the everyday stresses of the road, such as dirt or stone chips. In winter, there is also road salt and granules that attack the surface of your alloy wheels. Also polishes, greases and washing brushes of your next car wash will put a lot of strain on your alloy wheels. In addition, paints from aluminum rims are not chemically resistant, even if they are powder-coated, which is why they offer no protection against salt water in winter because they are not salt-repellent. In addition, they also do not protect against UV rays.
What brings rim wax?
Nothing! Apart from a temporary lotus effect, which ensures that the dirt rolls off faster after the first wash, there is no lasting effect when using rim wax. It would also not be possible, since a liquid wax can neither withstand the heat of the brakes nor protect against salt water.
The advantages of ACS 3000
The ACS 3000 rim sealing forms a surface four times harder than clear lacquer. The pore density of ACS 3000, which is even higher than that of glass, hermetically seals and seals everything that has been coated with the ACS 3000 rim seal. The chemically resistant surface offers optimal protection for your aluminum rims, as it is 3 - 12 pH resistant. This means extreme protection from highly acidic substances to alkalis. The surface hardened at room temperature of ACS 3000 is heat-resistant up to 850 degrees Celsius, in a special baking process even up to 1550 degrees. It can withstand any brake temperature. The special UV filter not only protects paints, but also increases the color effect of old and faded paints.
In the car of a regular customer, the rims (and the paint - coated with ACS 3000 paint sealing) of his Audi S8, which have covered 3,5 km in 170.000 years, were exposed to the stress of a car wash brush every week and their condition is still as good as new. With the first vehicle, the customer was still amazed, now he comes regularly.
