SEMA Las Vegas: This is how it works at the largest tuning trade fair in the world

[Display] The SEMA Show Las Vegas is the world's largest tuning trade fair. Every year at the beginning of November, new technology and special parts are presented here. But that's not all: at this event reserved for dealers and journalists, all the stops will be pulled out. And so there is an accompanying entertainment package ranging from casino accommodation to show races to celebrity appearances and live shows.

What is the SEMA Show?

The Special Equipment Market Association, or SEMA for short, is an association of 6000 parts manufacturers, dealers and tuning specialists from the US and around the world. Since 1967, it has held an annual trade fair in Las Vegas, which attracts up to 60.000 visitors - even though private individuals are not allowed in. The reason for this is not only that the fair is the best place to make contacts and examine innovations. At the same time, it is also a top-class event where the participants are well entertained.

Overnight on the Strip

This starts with the accommodation. As befits a trade fair in Las Vegas, the organizer ensures that his guests can stay on the famous strip if they wish. Participants can look forward to special conditions in some of Las Vegas' glamorous casino resorts - and of course many of them also use their stay to take a quick detour to the gaming table. Those who have never played blackjack, craps or video slots often prepare for their trip to Las Vegas online. Thanks to websites like CasinoFM, it is now easy to find an online casino with the right games. And so the gaming tables on the evenings of the trade fair weekend are usually well occupied with car enthusiasts.

Celebrity appearances and live shows

Things are also anything but boring on the exhibition grounds. Numerous live shows, panel discussions and product demonstrations serve to entertain and educate the viewers. Highlights include the industry awards ceremony on the first day of the show, the Battle of the Builders where 40 tuners will demonstrate their vehicles and a winner will be crowned, and the Collision Repair Stage where live repair demonstrations will be conducted. There are also appearances by surprise celebrity guests on the SEMA Show. 2021 included Formula 1 drivers Jenson Button, motocross star Ricky Carmichael and Sons of Anarchy star Kim Coates.

The show appearances are often exciting and in any case a nice bonus. But of course most of the guests primarily want to see one thing: cars. More than a thousand tuned exhibition vehicles are on display at the SEMA show, and not just as exhibits. At the Hoonigan Burnyard Bash, professional drivers perform tricks like burnouts or donuts. At the end of the fair, all show vehicles drive in an impressive parade from the exhibition hall to the after party, the SEMA Ignited. There, all the stops will be pulled out again with a spectacular Formula DRIFT show. Incidentally, the closing ceremony is also open to the public and attracts tuning fans from all over the USA. Numerous food trucks and drink stands provide refreshments for the spectators and make SEMA Ignited a worthy conclusion to the fair.
