outdoor lighting of the car means the main headlights, rear and brake lights, reversing lights, fog lamps, rear fog lights as well as indicators and license plate lights. As a light source in the headlights and fog lights are still in most cars Halogen bulbs Installed. The remaining light sources usually use normal filament lamps. Of course, there is already completely different technology in the vehicles. Xenon, LED and laser have long been common light sources and the normal halogen bulbs far superior. In terms of most common light sources in road traffic, however, halogen bulbs are still in the lead.

Change headlight bulbs - no problem

The driving, high beam, parking and turn signal lamps are usually all located in the headlight housing. To replace them, simply dismantle the blind headlight. At first it sounds more complicated than it is in practice. Make sure that the headlights are switched off when changing the bulbs. Important: Hold new light bulbs by the base and with clean hands never on the glass bulb at. If you don't do that, your fingerprints will evaporate with the first light on the hot glass bulb and cloud the reflector unnecessarily.

Clouded reflectors absorb light instead of reflecting it. In the worst case, up to 80 percent of the original light output can be achieved in this way get lost. If you cannot avoid fitting the new bulb into the socket by the glass bulb, then clean the bulb bulb with a lint-free cloth soaked in alcohol or denatured alcohol.

But that is possible (as of 10.2021) - apart from vehicles that can be converted to the H7 LED bulb ("Osram Night Breaker LED") – not simply by changing the lamp.
