Where else is the trend of LED rims / illuminated rims supposed to come from if not from America? LEDs or neon tubes, which illuminate the rims from behind and thus cause a stir while driving, ensure the aha effect in any case. Due to the rotating movements of the LED rims / illuminated rims, it looks as if the whole rim is a disc of light from a certain speed. Of course, this is only allowed in the USA. In Germany, the use of LED rims / illuminated rims is not permitted within the StVO. The reason for the ban in Germany is the fact that the LED rims could distract other road users. And that's why every lighting system on the vehicle must be approved by a testing organization.

In individual cases, the inspection is carried out by TÜV, DEKRA or one of the other testing organizations. As an alternative, we recommend some fancy shiny rims instead. They are allowed, so you can play with the effect of light. And the "painting" of the rim is not strictly forbidden. However, you have to pay attention to a few points when choosing the color or the stickers. It must not be illegal luminous paint that looks similar to a light source at night or reflects the light particularly strongly. Therefore, in individual cases, the inspection by TÜV and Co. may also have to be carried out in order to obtain absolute certainty regarding the admissibility.
