The tuning season is in full swing and in 2018 everything that is wider, louder, faster or just more individual is trendy. Tuning is not just a hobby but, as we find it, a way of life. Optical and technical changes contribute to the fact that your own vehicle is unmistakably individual. However, a large part of the modifications are partially borderline or completely prohibited. For 25 police officers from the West Palatinate Police Headquarters, a five-hour special training course was due last Tuesday in order to be able to distinguish - what is allowed and what is forbidden, The internal seminar focused on engine optimization, visual changes and of course unauthorized wheel / tire combinations.

The officers learned to find hidden accessories and to distinguish original components from deceptively similar replicas. On the Pariser Straße in Kaiserslautern then purposeful controls were carried out and well 20 vehicles examined. Of these, 13 cars were partially tuned illegally by installing accessory lights without registration, not allowed wheel / tire combinations or not allowed lowering. In part, the owners of the vehicles were surprised and surprised that the cars with these modifications are not road legal at all. A BMW E90 limousine was even shut down and secured on site.
