One hunter believed firmly in hearing gunshots in the forest and filed a complaint. There would have been at least 20 shots and in the end a car drove away that he could just make out. The license plate was not known to him, however. What he did not know, it was precisely this vehicle that caused the shots, as the state police department of Upper Austria announced. In the end it was a 19-year-old from the local tuning scene whose modified vehicle fired the “shots”.
Ignition breakers are illegal
The driver never fired a gun, but he had installed an ignition interrupter in his car. This ignition breaker enables the loud Misfires provoked that seemed like shots to the hunter when the tuner tested this system in the forest. In addition to the illegal setup, the vehicle had to show other questionable modifications that also affected the exhaust system, for example. It was extensively changed and even torn.
