A variable number plate can generally be used for the EU vehicle classes M1 (Cars with up to eight people plus driver and mobile homes), L (Motorrad) and O1 (Trailers up to 750 kg total weight) are assigned.
For classic cars with an H license plate, a variable license plate is an option!
The variable number plate is also included for vintage cars H-plates available. Basically, an interchangeable license plate consists of two different parts. As already mentioned, only vehicles with a full number plate are allowed on public roads. For example, unused vehicles (without a complete license plate) parked on public roads are punished with a fine of €40 plus 1 point in Flensburg. Anyone who is caught driving it also gets a point and even has to pay €50.
