Driving without a license can result in various penalties. But it has to be differentiated whether the driver of the car has the driver's license at all or whether he had to hand it in. A distinction is also made as to the reasons for submitting or losing a driver's license. Anyone who holds the driver's license and has only forgotten the document of proof at home or lost it on the way is guilty of an administrative offense and must pay a fine of approx. 10 euros (new regulations may vary) calculate. In this context, it is also referred to as a “warning”, because according to Section 4 (2) of the Driving License Ordinance (FeV) you are required to have your driving license Original document to carry along. Which vehicles are banned from driving?

The category of motorized vehicles even includes e-bikes, bicycles with auxiliary engines and scooters. Not just motorcycles, trucks, buses or cars, as many may think. In the driving ban you are not allowed to drive a moped or a license-free car. Pedelecs are currently still exempt from the driving ban (new regulations can be different). In individual cases, the authorities are free to issue a replacement driver's license for the duration of the ban. With this one may then “maybe” drive certain vehicles. For example: A driving ban may only apply to trucks and cars. With a light motorcycle, however, they may still take part in road traffic. The authority decides here depending on the individual case!
Provisional withdrawal of the driver's license
If the driver's license is provisionally withdrawn, for example if an alcohol check has been carried out, then the actual driving ban is only considered valid when a final judgment has been issued and has been demonstrably delivered. Nevertheless, one should not and should not get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle if the driver's license has been temporarily withdrawn (new regulations may be different).
Where can the driver's license be picked up again?
If the driver's license was handed in personally to a police station, it can be accepted there again after the driving ban. There are also ways to have this sent to you by post after the no-driving time. If the driver's license was handed in by post, the driving ban period only applies from the date the authority receives the driver's license. Difference between driving license and driving license
The term driver's license refers to the general permission to drive a motor vehicle on the road. But the permit is subject to conditions. For example, they only exist if your main residence is in Germany and an eye test (all information about the eye test) has been completed. The driver's license, on the other hand, is the document that proves this authorization. For this purpose, the driver's license document has specific restrictions and requirements for driving the vehicles. For example, the obligation to wear glasses is noted here.
