This VW Golf GTI was pulled out of traffic by the police in Lüdenscheid. Last Friday (15.06.2018) the officials noticed the driver of the extremely deep MK7. But primarily because he used his smartphone on the B229 while driving. But this circumstance quickly became a minor matter as the officials inspected the tuning measures of the Wolfsburgers. At the lowest point the vehicle had no 4 cm ground clearance which of course is legally not allowed. In addition, there was an unregistered wheel-tire combination that made itself noticeable by various grinding marks in the wheel arch. Reason enough to show the vehicle at a technical inspection center. Here you discovered unauthorized built-in coil springs that could be removed even with the hand thanks to lack of bias. Next there was also a flap exhaust system without approval.
The vehicle was not even able to leave the test center's lifting platform without tearing off various parts of the underbody. It goes without saying that this lowering would not have been registered by a recognized testing organization in Germany and also explains why there was no reference to the conversion in the vehicle documents. A fine of around 350 € and a complaint against the vehicle owner (the man's father) is safe. In our opinion, vehicles like this keep the whole scene falling into disrepute. Pity! BUT: On the other hand, one must also note that it is simply inexplicable why a testing organization forcibly drives this vehicle onto the lift and thereby causes damage to the GTI. Legally in our opinion not sustainable and a reason for the injured party to sue for damages.
