The RS 20, which has now been in production for 6 years, not only plays an important role in the company history at Audi, but also at ABT Sportsline. Four generations have emerged so far and the people of the Allgäu have taken care of each one of them with great devotion. "Whenever a new RS 6 comes onto the market, you think to yourself: Wow, it can't get any better!" explains Managing Partner Hans-Jürgen Abt: "In addition to my congratulations on the model anniversary, I would therefore like to express my greatest respect." Nevertheless the world's largest refiner for vehicles from the Audi and VW Group has managed time and again to create a vehicle that is even more fascinating in terms of performance and to inspire its fans all over the world. Of course, this is also due to the fact that these cars were and are always special eye-catchers thanks to a high degree of individualization. Above all, the now out of print Johann Abt Signature Edition, which was created in 2021 to mark the 125th anniversary of the company, which began in 1896 as a down-to-earth horsesmith.

“The RS 6 is the perfect platform for ultimate high-performance station wagons. These models are always among the highlights in our program - all are and were special media favorites and coveted by customers all over the world," says Hans-Jürgen Abt: "The visual transformation process in particular is becoming more and more demanding for us, since Audi is presenting enormously today . While the first RS 6 from 2002 was still a real wolf in sheep's clothing, the current model C8 cannot be denied a certain extroversion." Nevertheless, ABT Sportsline managed to set a clear exclamation mark in terms of technology and exterior in this case - and that not only with the sold out Johann Abt Signature Edition. "Our current RS6-S scores with spectacular carbon add-on parts, striking light-alloy wheels, perfectly balanced chassis and performance upgrades at super sports car level," says Hans-Jürgen Abt enthusiastically.

A look at the past shows what has happened in terms of performance: the first RS 6 had 2002 hp (450 kW) ex works in 331. Today's production model, which like all its predecessors with the exception of the 2nd generation (10-cylinder bi-turbo) is powered by a supercharged V8, has an impressive 600 hp (441 kW). That's 33 percent or 150 hp more. But the potential is far from exhausted, as the ABT RS6-S shows, which uses the ABT Power S* performance upgrade. It is based on the high-tech control unit ABT Engine Control (AEC), which increases engine power to 700 hp (515 kW) and provides an enormous maximum torque of 880 Nm. Not enough drive yet? On request, even 740 hp (544 kW) and 920 Nm can be achieved.
With numbers like that, it's reassuring that all RS 6s have all-wheel drive and DRC (Dynamic Ride Control) suspension was available from the first generation. The shock absorbers are connected diagonally here, which reduces pitch and roll. In the RS6-S, ABT Sportsline also implants sports stabilizers at the front and rear and coilover suspension springs. These allow variable lowering of up to 25 mm on the front axle and 30 mm on the rear axle. This further reduces the tendency to pitch and roll and perfectly accentuates the gigantic 22-inch ABT High Performance HR wheels in the wheel arches.
It goes without saying that new alloy wheels are not enough for a complete vehicle from ABT Sportsline – no matter how complex they may be. As mentioned at the beginning, the Bavarian refiner has given the RS6-S an extensive visible carbon aerodynamics package. These include a distinctive front lip with the model name in red lettering, side skirt attachments at the front and side blades at the rear. The two-part rear spoiler and the ABT silencer system made of stainless steel with their four 102 mm tailpipe trim add further accents. ABT Sportsline has also shown great attention to detail in the interior. In addition to the seat refinement and the door entry lighting, customization includes the door sills, the gear knob cap in glossy visible carbon, the start-stop switch cap and the steering wheel badge. If you don't want to buy a complete ABT RS6-S right away, but speculate specifically on individual options for your existing vehicle, you can also get many technical components individually.
