On July 1, 2021, RAVENOL and ABT Sportsline started a technology cooperation in the fields of engine oils, gear and limited-slip differential oils and brake fluids. This brings together the highest levels of expertise in the high-performance area. RAVENOL, the premium brand from Ravensberger Schmierstoffvertrieb GmbH, is one of the most powerful lubricants in the automotive and motorcycle industries around the world. As an original equipment manufacturer, RAVENOL is now supplying its performance-relevant products for the performance-enhanced cars from ABT Sportsline, the world's leading tuner for vehicles from the Volkswagen Group. The new partners can draw on a total of 200 years of experience in their collaboration. Ravensberger Schmierstoffvertrieb GmbH has been developing and producing high-performance lubricants with the brand name RAVENOL since 1946 - i.e. for 75 years. ABT Sportsline from Kempten im Allgäu has existed since 1991 and emerged from the farrier and wagon smithy founded by Johann Baptist Abt in 1896 - 125 years ago - as well as the car dealership and tuning companies that grew out of it.
Innovative cooperation in the field of lubricants
RAVENOL and ABT Sportsline also have deep roots in motorsport: RAVENOL has been active as a technical partner and consultant in many national and international racing series up to Formula 1 with different sporting orientations for decades. ABT has been celebrating successes in motorsport for six decades and has won countless races and titles in all relevant classes from formula to GT racing to high-class sports cars in the DTM and has recently also been very successful in electrified motorsport. The new partners were also active together: In the Volkswagen Scirocco R Cup, which was held from 2010 to 2014, RAVENOL lubricant partner and ABT Sportsline were the central teams for the one-make cup.
