With the new KW coilover suspension variant 5, the suspension manufacturer KW automotive is once again meeting its market leadership in individual suspension innovations. Compared to conventional threaded and sports suspensions in original equipment and aftermarket, KW relies on its successful motorsport chassis technology with displacement pistons and modular damper valves connected in series. The variant 5 convinces in sports cars and supercars with a precise and fast damping without time delay. Even with small suspension travel, steering movements and minimal road bumps, the dampers and valves react directly. The damper valves in the 5 variant are each independently tunable with 14 exact clicks in the low and high-speed damper forces of the compression and rebound to the respective driving sensation for more driving dynamics or increased ride comfort. Also can be adjusted with the coilover suspension stepless lowering.
In addition, the displacement piston technology used in variant 5, with its valves separated from the working piston, offers additional added value, such as fully active chassis systems. For the KW coilover kit variant 5, the chassis manufacturer adapted its displacement piston dampers for street sports cars. “In exclusive vehicles of our industrial customers and also in GT3 motorsport, we rely on this technically interesting damper technology. For example, the pressure and rebound valves connected in series are separated from the working piston, ”says KW fire manager Jonas Ehrmann. "This means that we can break new ground in damping than with other systems." For example, there is no need to balance piston pressure and valve pressure, which means that the dampers respond much more sensitively and without noticeable time lag.
Every maneuver and every impulse such as deceleration, acceleration, steering, load changes, bumps are attenuated much more precisely. The displacement piston dampers support the vehicle body more optimally than conventional dampers and thus lower spring rates can be used. Inharmonious handling or even the grip loss due to a too tight suspension design is prevented by the variant 5. "Put simply, with our new suspension technology, enhanced driving dynamics and, if desired, driving comfort are no longer enough," continues Jonas Ehrmann. In addition, the 5 version offers the freedom to further adjust the side-mounted valves for the low- and high-speed forces of compression and rebound damping with 14 clicks to exactly the desired personal driving behavior. Also with the KW coilover suspension variant 5 a continuously adjustable maximum lowering can be selected.
KW variant 5 a new generation of coilovers
A sports car equipped with an 5 variant drives much more harmoniously and directly, without car enthusiasts having to make compromises in terms of driving dynamics or residual driving comfort. The new KW coilover suspension variant 5 is the next generation of high-performance coilover kits from KW automotive. Depending on the vehicle-specific requirement, the 4 5 coil-over suspension variant for axle geometries with MacPherson struts, double-wishbone or multi-link axles and push-rod suspension is exclusively available for sports cars and supercars. Depending on the axle geometry, KW manufactures the shock absorbers and shock absorbers of the 5 variant in aluminum or stainless steel, depending on the vehicle model, and uses aluminum uniball bearings, progressive springs or a two-part racing suspension system, depending on the vehicle model. In the future, the versatile KW positive displacement piston technology will also form the basis for fully active chassis and will be further expanded. The recommended retail price for the 4-adjustable KW coilover suspension variant 5 starts at 7.999 Euro.
