At the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, all eyes will be on BMW M GmbH as BMW's legendary motorsport division celebrates five decades of success. Festival-goers will witness the world premiere of the first BMW M3 Touring and the UK premiere of the new BMW M4 CSL. Both vehicles will take part in the hill climb during the four-day event. A key part of the festival is the Central Feature sculpture on the lawn of Goodwood House, designed to pay homage to 50 years of motorsport excellence and showcase some of BMW M's most iconic models.

for the 50th anniversary

Elsewhere, visitors can view – and in some cases drive – the latest models from BMW's exciting range, including the new BMW iX1, i7, i4 and iX M60. For the first time in the history of BMW M, the model range has been expanded to include a BMW M3 Touring. The latest BMW M vehicle will be presented on Thursday, June 23 at 10:00 a.m. local time and can be seen at the Hillclimb in the “First Glance” category on all festival days.

In addition to the BMW M3 Touring and the BMW M3 Touring MotoGP Safety Car, the new BMW M4 CSL will also be on display. The two-seater coupe is characterized by an increase in output of 4 hp to 40 hp compared to the current BMW M550 Competition Coupé. At the same time, the overall weight has been reduced by 100 kg through careful weight reduction measures, including the use of carbon fiber for the roof, bonnet and trunk lid. The new BMW M4 CSL thus achieved the best lap time ever achieved by a BMW road car on the Nürburgring's Nordschleife.
