Chassis noises in the Golf VII and "relatives"?

In the Golf VII (5G1 *), Skoda Octavia III (5E *), SEAT Leon III (5F *) and other MQB models from the VW Group with identical axle construction, there are sometimes noises from the chassis. This is often reported to BILSTEIN Technical Support from everyday workshop life, even if the company is not the OE supplier in this case. Specifically, it is a rumble, rattling and knocking that can be located in the rear gas pressure shock absorbers. This is technically harmless, but some drivers find it annoying. Fortunately, however, BILSTEIN offers a solution with more damping force that even optimizes driving behavior.

Vehicles up to the end of 2015 are particularly affected!

Vehicles built up to the end of 2015 are particularly hard hit by the noises. But the phenomenon mentioned can also occur with later models. A passive chassis, i.e. without electronic damping force adjustment, is a prerequisite for this to occur. An effective solution is to replace the rear series shock absorbers with the BILSTEIN B6 from the aftermarket. It stands for improved series replacement and offers more damping power. A lowering is not necessary for this. If this is the goal, the BILSTEIN B8 could also be another interesting alternative as an upgrade.

Of course, that wasn't the end of it!
