Online trading covers all areas and also thinks about the car. Vehicle owners can take advantage of the growing range and buy new parts at particularly low prices.

Uncompromising: the full range in the tuning shop

Whether for the interior, the engine or the body, you can now find all car parts in online shops. And there often at very reasonable prices. Important parts such as catalytic converters are already cheap in the tuning shop / online shop: for older generations of Golf, they are sometimes available for less than 100 euros. If you want to install the catalytic converter yourself, you can also get the required assembly kit almost free of charge. The arguments are obvious and self-explanatory of the trend. You will look in vain for exceptions: both wearing parts and tuning products are available online in large numbers and make life difficult for stationary specialist shops.

Another good example of this is tires. Due to the changeable weather, many drivers have not yet reared the summer tires and that could also be an advantage financially. Because in the internet trade there are complete tire sets from brand manufacturers at greatly reduced prices - if necessary, suitable alloy wheels can also be ordered directly. For small cars, for which narrow tires are sufficient, owners can find branded tires for around 30 euros each. If that's not enough, you will find suitable tires for your pedestal in the 17-inch class (225 mm wide) from around 60 euros.

Are the disadvantages of online trading still up to date?

The disadvantage of this purchasing strategy is that the advice in the online tuning shop cannot keep up with that in the real shop. But this is now more of a truism than truth: All major online shops (also the tuning shops, i.e. niche shops) have long recognized the importance of good service and offer both a hotline and chat support. At the same time, advice in business is by no means always what it should be. Numerous stories of black sheep reinforce this impression and this is especially true for car workshops. Advice from the tuning shop via telephone, e-mail or WhatsApp can be just as effective or even more effective.

So there seems to be a changing of the guard in the foreseeable future. The good thing about it: The more competitors populate the online market in the field of tuning shops, the stronger the price war, which is very positive news for customers. Nevertheless, one will not be able to do completely without certain services in the future either. Finally one thing is clear: tire change and oil change are still feasible for many owners, but the professional workshop is required for many other measures.
