The main reason for the lack of assertiveness on the automotive market is the still very short range of the batteries and the relatively high acquisition costs. But now a jolt is going through the production of the electric car industry. Because the acquisition costs should be adjusted to the prices of comparable combustion engines over the next ten years. In order to reduce exhaust gas values, electric drives are to be increasingly used, especially in densely populated areas. The future of innovative urban mobility is in the starting blocks. Consumer advocates assume that the proportion of electric cars will increase significantly in the coming years. Electric cars are becoming more and more affordable, technology continues to advance, so we will see more electric cars on German roads. However, not everyone is convinced of the innovation of an electric drive. We have therefore summarized the advantages and a future prognosis for electric cars in a brief overview below.
Costs fall on the level of gasoline
The consumer protection association assumes that already in the year 2024 the cost of an electric car will be at the level of a gasoline engine. The cost level will then last at least four years. The purchase price, resale value, insurance, fuel, maintenance and taxes were included in the cost calculations. At the moment, the costs for the first four years of a new electric model are several thousand euros higher than for diesel vehicles. In the foreseeable future, government purchase premiums will no longer be necessary to make daily trips with an environmentally conscious car. All major automakers are working flat out on new and less expensive models to herald the future of automobility.
Reduce emissions in the city
One of the main factors that speaks for the use of electric cars is the avoidance of exhaust gases that are emitted into the environment. Because instead of a combustion engine, electric cars only have a battery that has to be charged with electricity. The environmentally friendly electric cars can thus significantly reduce the pollution caused by exhaust gases, particularly in busy cities, and ensure a more pleasant climate.
Fill up cheaply and easily
So far, the batteries in electric cars only last for 500 kilometers, which is still too little to be able to switch completely to electric cars. Charging the battery also takes a lot of time. The electric cars of the future should be equipped with a more powerful battery. Charging should also be accelerated by around 70 percent, making it possible to cover longer distances with an electric drive without any problems.
