These are the favorites for the upcoming F1 season!

[Display]

The entire motorsport world is looking forward to the start of this year's Formula 1 season. F1 is still the premier class of motorsport and probably the most popular racing series in the world. Whether car enthusiast or tuning fan - when Silver Arrows, Ferrari and Co. go to the starting line, everyone looks to Formula 1. This year wants Lewis Hamilton Of course, finally winning his eighth world title and becoming the sole record champion. For other teams, however, it is a kind of transition season before new regulations apply again in 2022. We take a look at the most promising starters in the F1 season 2021.

Motorsport is growing in popularity

Even though more and more engine manufacturers are gradually withdrawing from Formula 1, motorsport is still booming. Whether MotoGP, Formula E or rally motorsport is still very popular. This can also be seen in the numerous transmissions. Especially on weekends, fans have the opportunity to watch a wide variety of racing series during the season. Of course, the same applies to fans of sports betting. At William Hill, for example, there are numerous betting markets under the motorsport category - from motorcycle racing to rallying to formula racing. But of course, Formula 1 still attracts the most people.

Lewis Hamilton with the eighth prank?

Actually, it was hard to imagine that Lewis Hamilton would not be in the Silver Arrow in the coming season. The dominance that the Briton and his racing team have shown in recent years is reminiscent of Michael Schumacher's heyday in the Ferrari. But despite the outstanding performance and the chances of becoming the first Formula 1 driver of all time to win eight world championship titles, the contract extension between Mercedes and the Briton failed. He recently signed a one-year working paper after all. Will the 2021 season now be a farewell tour for Hamilton? With the bookmakers he is definitely the big top favorite for the world title again.

Has the time come for Max Verstappen?

Max Verstappen already proved last season that he is already one of the top drivers in the field. The son of Formula 1 legend Jos Verstappen finished most of his races on the podium last year. He was even at the top twice, which is the most victories for a non-Mercedes driver. The experts agree that Verstappen will definitely become world champion in his career. It is questionable whether this will be the case this season. Although it is repeatedly mentioned as a potential World Cup candidate, the Silver Arrows still seem to be THE superior force.

Does Bottas get his chance?

In addition to Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas will also stay with Mercedes for another year. The Finn joined the Silver Arrows in 2017 as the successor to Nico Rosberg. Bottas is of course only the clear number 2 behind Hamilton, but last season he showed that he too has what it takes to be a top driver. Team boss Toto Wolff sees it similarly: "This year we see the strongest Valtteri so far - both in terms of his performance on the racetrack as well as physically and mentally.“Should problems arise at Hamilton, Mercedes has the right man up their sleeves in Bottas. Otherwise, the Finn should ensure that Mercedes wins the constructors' championship in addition to the driver's title.

What's in it for Vettel, Leclerc and Co?

The experts agree, the title only goes through Mercedes. Maybe Red Bull can catch up and annoy the Silver Arrows decisively, all other teams are only given minimal chances. Ferrari also seems to see the coming racing season as a transitional season and to put more resources into the 2022 car. After Vettel left the Scuderia, Charles Leclerc is now the "new" hope for the Italians. There is probably not a realistic chance of winning the world title this year. But this will not harm the Ferrari myth either. Vettel, on the other hand, now drives in the Aston Martin F1 Team, which is also supplied with Mercedes engines. He should enrich the racing team with his experience and shape the team into a World Championship contender. However, it is doubtful whether this will be the case this year.

After the extraordinary past season and the upheavals in 2022, many fans are looking forward to the new racing time with excitement. Many teams are facing upheaval and with the strength of Mercedes there seems to be only one real constant. The big question is, of course: Will Hamilton get his eighth world title?
