Test report: install slim spoiler lip / rear spoiler!

The days we have you our experiences with the Seker Tuning EZ-Lip on the VW Phaeton and since then we have received many inquiries as to whether we can put such a test online with a spoiler lip for the tailgate. So we looked around on the internet to see what our vehicle is available here and opted for a high-gloss black painted rear spoiler lip that is supposedly suitable for our Phaeton. The rear spoiler, called "Slim Spoiler" at a price of almost 60 euros, should, according to the provider, "Fly Design Ltd“Suitable for the VW Phaeton and was delivered within 24 hours. Upon arrival, however, it was immediately apparent that the lip was not easily suitable for our car. The delivered spoiler lip was in the delivery condition "Straight"(was also described by the provider) and not slightly curved like our vehicle.

Adjustment by means of heat possible

However, that was not a real problem, because the component is made of robust, flexible polyurethane plastic and can be quickly adapted to the shape of the tailgate under the influence of heat. The SLIM line lip comes from the supplier with a primer and a triple coating in black and thus saves going to the painter and thus further costs. The small rear spoiler should refine our vehicle discreetly and give the rear area a dynamic finish. In our opinion, the black paintwork and the subtle design harmonize perfectly with the recently installed EZ-Lip on the front apron and in the sill area. Whether with the lip actually the "aerodynamic efficiency and directional stability at higher speeds“Increases, as the provider claims, we leave it open in our case.

But the fact is. The rear spoiler subtly emphasizes the dynamic elegance and emphasizes the look of the car in a filigree way. And the spoiler is quickly installed without any drilling work due to the adhesive tape applied to the body. A workshop is also not required for this. The Lippe is of course car wash-proof, but this should be tried after 48 hours at the earliest. Incidentally, we like the weight of the tear-off edge made of composite material PUR / PU (polyurethane). The lip is extremely light and therefore easy to get over even for lightweight freaks. In any case, the weight of our 2,5 ton monster did not play a role. The result is impressive and we show you how the installation works in the following video.
