We have seen the days on Facebook again an ad that draws attention with a well made video. The product is advertised DiamondProtect windscreen protection which sees itself as a nano seal for the car window. But what is that supposed to be? It is said: "DiamondProtect is revolutionizing driving with a nano-sealing" which you can simply apply yourself as windshield protection. Allegedly, the windshield is better protected against stone chips and the DiamondProtect windshield protection should also ensure a clear view in the rain.
But how does that work?
The DiamondProtect windshield protection is a liquid glass seal for the windshield. You can simply apply it yourself and the sealing cloths supplied are intended to help. The liquid glass creates a wafer-thin, transparent coating on the windshield and the clear view should be particularly good in the rain.
No windshield wipers anymore?
Well at least almost. The windshield protection should at least ensure that at higher speeds, the windscreen wipers remain almost unused. The seal is phobic What does that mean, apart from water, oil and dirt hardly adhere anymore? Starting at low speed, the rain should simply roll off the disk. DiamondProtect claims even the windshield protection produces up to 500% better visibility in the rain.
Advantages even in winter
Due to the coating water adheres worse to the surface reduces the icing of the windscreen. Once the car windows have frozen, the icing can be cleared much easier and without much force.
DiamondProtect is also a rockfall protection?
This too can work conditionally. Using nano-technology from the aerospace industry, the windscreen is made more resistant. The sheer nano-layer supposedly makes the windshield up to 600% harder and more resistant to rockfalls or scratches that occur, for example, during ice scraping.
The focus - the nano-sealing of the windshield
The DiamondProtect windshield protector is applied in about 100 nanometer thickness and this thin protective layer to do the enormous work. The whole thing is resistant to high-pressure cleaners and car washes and the windshield protection keeps up to a year. Of course, the conditions are always dependent on where and how often the vehicle is used.
we had to test it - ⚠ Tutorial in the video ➡ click
We have that with the cleaning of the windscreen really taken seriously and therefore cleaned in advance the entire windscreen with a kitchen sponge. Ps. Even if the snow suggests something else, that day we had about + 10 ° outside temperature.
After the disc has been completely cleaned, and also freed of any water, we have possibly removed any remaining washer wax or other residues with commercial spirit.
1. Clean according to instructions
Then we took the supplied cleaning wipes with the inscription "Step 1" and proceeded according to the instructions. With a cloth, one half of the disc is cleaned and then you take the black microfibre cloth and polished all visible residues finally away.
2. The seal
Now we have taken the sealing cloths impregnated with liquid glass (marked with "step 2") and thus also treated one side of the front screen. Important is the even and slow applied the seal. You should plan for about 90 seconds per cloth and will find that no later than the towels no liquid more.
3. let dry
According to the description, let it dry for at least 10 minutes and then polish the disc again with the black microfibre cloth. The disc should then shine and have no residues.
At the latest after about 12 hours is the DiamondProtect windscreen protection completely cured and then you should also press the wipers again.
the result in the video (before & after)
Usable for all vehicle types
It is a liquid protective layer which is applied by means of sealing cloths. This has the advantage that DiamondProtect is not limited to certain cars but can be applied to any windshield. Of course DiamondProtect can also be used for any other disc, but for us the meaning really only opens up for the windscreen. However, we particularly like the idea of optimizing the windshields on motorcycles with the "protectet" liquid glass protection because every motorcyclist knows the problem of being able to hardly see anything through the partly small shields in heavy rain.
impressive even in snowfall
Almost a bit surreal DiamondProtect acts in snowfall. You can see the snowflakes coming directly to the car, but not a drop on the windscreen collects. For the first moment that is quite a habituation that reminds a little of an optical illusion. So even with snowfall a worthwhile and very effective thing.
