This year, after a two-year break, the start of the trade fair season for classic cars is something special. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Oldtimer is bringing two stars from the children's room to the Bremen Classic Motor Show 2023. A 1962 T1, which served as a model for the Playmobil brand model and is probably the world's largest Bulli from building blocks. In Hall 5, the experts from Hanover share a joint stand with Audi Tradition, Volkswagen Classic and the Autostadt. Visitors can take a journey back in time to the children's room, where the toy and model cars provided the impetus for automotive dreams. Not infrequently, these were the cars from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles - and above all the Bulli.
Bremen Classic Motor Show 2023
In 2011, the LEGO® company launched the first Bulli set of a T1 camper van from the 1962 model year. This consisted of 1.334 clamping blocks and remained on offer until 2020. The next model followed in 2021, the T2 Camper. Not only "small" toy campers can be admired at the stand in Bremen; You can also see what is probably the world's largest LEGO® Bulli. A full-size T400.000 camper built from 2 bricks. A certified LEGO® builder recreated the vehicle in just six weeks. Loving details that should not be missing in any camper complete this unique piece. The model for this Bulli made of building blocks was the T2a "Horst" from the VWN vintage car collection. “Horst” can also be seen at the stand.
Playmobil's later answer is just a block throw away. On the occasion of an appointment in Hanover, those responsible at Playmobil got to know the T1962 camper "Henrik the Red", built in 1. A Bulli that inspired her immediately and that has been "playmobilisiert" on the shelves of toy dealers since 2021, not only making children's eyes happy.
In autumn 2021, Playmobil also launched a Bulli configurator that customers can use to configure their own camper. In addition to five different color combinations, the license plate and figures can be ordered individually. Since then there have been brand new T1 Bullis again, even if only on a scale of 1:18. A look into the interior of the Playmobil model gives a foretaste of that VW Bus Festival taking place in Hanover from June 23rd to 25th, 2023. Several thousand Bullis of all generations will be represented on the festival grounds on and around the exhibition grounds in summer. In the center of Events there will be an attractive stage program all about the cult bus: show acts and everything for the VW bus fan awaits the visitors. And the children's room heroes will be there again.
