Tuning almost always there - sports mirror for individualists

Sports mirrors are part of the optical tuning of a vehicle. They enhance its appearance and are a real eye-catcher. The exterior mirrors of the vehicle have an exposed position per se, because they protrude and thus mark the maximum width of the car. Of course, they are also at risk: accidentally touching a wall by car (mostly in underground car park entrances), but also in parking lot bumps or wanton vandalism it always hits the mirror first. They are damaged and need to be replaced.

That would be an opportunity, for example, to opt for sports mirrors and thus significantly upgrade the car. Chic new exterior mirrors give the vehicle a powerful, dynamic and modern appearance. Their different designs allow the vehicle to be individualized. Sports mirrors can be manually or electrically adjustable and have flashing LEDs, the colors and shapes are very different. They are always an eye-catcher, they are preferred by vehicle owners who do not meet the common standard.

Of course, like any exterior mirror, they fulfill the primary function of providing an excellent view of the traffic behind. They can be assembled in a few simple steps. Special adapter plates, which accommodate sports mirrors, are supplied for attachment. Of course, the tuning workshop will also take care of the assembly. See the video below for an examplehow the swap in the BMW 5 Series (G30) works. For this we have the OEM mirror caps from an M550i against mirror caps in M5 F90 optics exchanged.

Optical tuning with sports mirrors is a relatively cheap way to give the vehicle a dynamic face. Some drivers use them as a stand-alone highlight, but they can also be integrated into a comprehensive tuning concept. They are available in a universal form for all models or for special brands. An alternative would be the mirror caps, which serve as accentuated highlights even more cheaply. Exterior mirrors are usually painted in the same color as the car or black. Deviating mirror caps immediately catch the eye.

Carbon mirror caps underline a very sporty claim, while stainless steel caps make the car look luxurious. If you decide on sports mirrors right away, you don't need mirror caps, of course, these only fit standard mirrors. Finally, the cheapest option is foiling. There are almost no limits here and with a little skill you can do the wrapping of a mirror cap yourself. Whatever the decision, it leads to more sporty individuality in the visual appearance of the car.

Of course that had not happened yet!

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
