And it continues with the ideas from the Youtuber team from "Garage 54"! After a self-made Vossen rim and one out Plexiglass you now have a variant with Central locking decided. And this is not about one Central locking dummy , or Adapterbut a "real" center lock rim! And this time, too, the basis for the conversion is a boring steel rim, originally with 4 classic studs was attached. And the test object is an ancient Lada 2107, which can now enjoy F1 technology. The guys themselves take the conversion less and less seriously, but just want to show that it is possible to convert a conventional steel rim to the practical central lock. And you can see in the video that this central locking system also fulfills the most important task, the quick wheel change.
36 seconds to change from the bike
The wheel change is done in just 36 seconds and thus significantly faster than the conventional variant. The 2107 (WAS-2104, WAS-2105 and WAS-2107) was delivered in the 80s with studs, which are still used as a lock. In this way, part of the forces acting on the central locking system are also removed. And the self-made system is a variant with a 75 mm mount that enables the wheel nut to be tightened forcefully. Due to the existing stud bolts, the wheel does not turn when tightened. And typically Garage 54, the whole thing was again subjected to an extensive stress test that was passed with flying colors.
