Wire spoke wheels are the absolute highlight, especially on rare classics. They come especially in the so-called Slab culture scene are used and are sometimes unaffordable. Yes, the latest video from the Russian YouTuber team garage54 shows a much cheaper variant. In the form of a self-made rim transformation with 100 “nails” to get a “steelie”, so to speak. So a self-made, elegant spoke classic. The basis for this is a boring steel rim and a pile of nails. Thus the possibility to connect the nails and the rim was given before. Step by step you have then welded the nails to the rim.

Conversion to central locking optics

Little by little, smaller parts of the rim were removed to ensure the necessary stability during construction. Even a conversion to Central lock Optics with classic 3-spoke lock nut was considered. It is not a functional component, but what can you do for the perfect steampunk look! The rim and nut were then primed and later wrapped in a glossy black and finished. And, as always, the completed project was tested on the roads of Russia.
