Youtuber has that West Champlin presented differently. If you want to buy a Hummer H1, you should always take a H1 home with you at the end of the auction. But as you can see in the video of just under 11 minutes below, it won't work if you don't look closely at the vehicle beforehand. Fortunately, the boys did that. At the latest when the hood was opened, the confusion was perfect. There, namely, an engine from Ford appeared. And with that, the Humvee was really never equipped ex works. At that time, the choice was either a 150 hp 6,2 l (GM-6200) V8 diesel, a 170 hp 6,5 l (GM-6500) V8 diesel, a 200 hp 6,5 l (GM-6500) V8- Diesel or a free-sucking 200 hp 5,7 l Chevy Small Block V8 petrol engine.

Ford chassis and Ford engine

And the last expansion stage even had a 300 hp 6,6 liter Duramax 6600 V8 turbo diesel (H1 Alpha) under the hood. But none of the engines are built into this vehicle. The result is a Ford with the hull of the Humvee. While the conversion actually looks pretty real at first, a glance at the missing double wishbone front suspension should have made it clear that something does not fit here. The guys believe that the modified Ford V8 is either a 5,9-liter (6,9 liter) or 6,4 liter (390 cubic inch) power unit. The chassis also appears to be from a Ford and parts of the body - like the doors - are made of fiberglass. The interior is very similar to an H1 due to the mighty center console.

We know of course that "Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder". However, we have examined the vehicle extensively and have come to the conclusion that it definitely belongs in our tuning fail category because WE do not consider it beautiful. What is your opinion about this? Beautiful or not so beautiful? Please leave a comment here!

His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
