Shelby American

The tuning company was founded in 1962 by the double "Driver of the Year" Carroll Shelby, one of the most famous racing drivers in the United States and winner of the LeMans 24 Hours in 1959. The company designed the Shelby Cobra, among other things. Shelby American also helped develop the Dodge Viper. Carroll himself drove this car as a pace car for the Indy 500 in 1991. In 2004 Shelby was employed for the construction of the Ford GT, which became a cooperation.
