Extended standard scope, fine-tuning of the design and even more pulling power. The new BMW R nineT models - R nineT, R nineT Pure, R nineT Scrambler and R nineT Urban G / S. With the R nineT, BMW Motorrad presented more than just a classic roadster in 2013. Rather, from the start, she combined classic motorcycle design and modern technology with high craftsmanship and a wide range of customization options. A short time later, the R nineT found attractive derivatives in the BMW Motorrad Heritage world of experience: the R nineT Urban G / S as an enduro with the genes of the legendary R 80 G / S from 1980, the R nineT Scrambler as an homage to this special one Motorcycle type for people who love the puristic, reduced and non-conforming, as well as the R nineT Pure as the roadster reduced to the essentials. For the upcoming 2021 season, BMW Motorrad has now sharpened the R nineT family with a number of technical changes and significantly expanded standard and optional equipment.
the 2020 BMW R nineT models
Boxer engine according to EU-5 regulations with new cylinder heads, even more torque and an optimized design. For use in the new R nineT models, the boxer engine received technical and optical fine-tuning and is now designed for the regulations of the EU-5 emission class. Its peak output is now 80 kW (109 PS) at 7250 rpm (previously 1 kW (81 PS) at 110 rpm), the maximum torque is still 7750 Nm at 1 rpm. Newly designed cylinder heads ensure a more harmonious transition from the outer to the inner cooling fins and newly designed throttle valve parts and cylinder head covers make it look even more aesthetic. A new turbulence system is used inside the cylinder heads, which swirls the mixture to ensure even better and cleaner combustion and more torque. With an even more voluminous power and torque curve, especially in the range between 116 and 6000 rpm, noticeably better torque values are now achieved than with the predecessor.
ABS Pro + DBC (Dynamic Brake Control)
ABS Pro including DBC (Dynamic Brake Control), new shock absorber with travel-dependent damping (WAD) as well as "Rain" and "Road" riding modes are now standard. The new R nineT models already have ABS Pro in series production in conjunction with DBC (Dynamic Brake Control) for more safety when braking - even on a lean angle and in difficult situations. The scope of delivery also includes a new shock absorber with travel-dependent damping (WAD) and thus more suspension comfort and convenient adjustment of the spring preload via a handwheel. The "Rain" and "Road" driving modes are now also on board as standard. Classic round instrument with new dial, LED light units and USB charging socket as standard. A round instrument with a redesigned face on which the BMW logo is depicted, as well as “invisible” indicator lights when they are not lit, further complements the new standard scope of the R nineT models. The new R nineT models now also have a headlight and white LED flashing lights as standard. The expanded standard scope of the new R nineT models is complemented by a USB charging socket.
dynamic traction control DTC

As new special equipment there is now Pro riding mode with the additional riding modes "Dyna" for the R nineT and R nineT Pure and "Dirt" for the R nineT Scrambler and R nineT Urban G / S, the dynamic traction control DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) and the Engine drag torque control (MSR) available. Another new feature in the area of special equipment is the Comfort Package, consisting of Pro riding modes, speed control and heated handlebar grips. Also new to the range are the individual special equipment for cornering lights and the rear silencer design option.
traditional "Option 719" special equipment

The refinement of the R nineT model family is rounded off by new standard and special colors. Of particular importance is the “Edition 40 Years GS” of the R nineT Urban G/S.
