The renowned company Ares design from Modena is known for her passion for bringing Italian sports car legends back to life. Who doesn't remember her rebirth? De Tomaso Pantera? And the company set another milestone in 2020 when it released the first virtual images of the Ares Wami Lalique Spyder published. And now the project has tangible forms. Every detail of the Ares Wami Lalique Spyder pays tribute to the legendary convertibles of the 50s and 60s. The characteristic one radiator grill plays on the Maserati A6GCS Frua while other design elements such as the profile and side gills reflect the minimalist charm of the Ferrari 250 GT California pick up. But what is actually behind the retro beauty?
Ares Wami Lalique Spyder
The core of the vehicle is a BMW Z4 the first generation, more precisely the one E85 series. With dimensions of 4,45 meters long, 1,84 meters wide and a height of 1,25 meters, the Spyder has a rather disproportionate wheelbase of 2,50 meters - a remnant of the BMW basis. That too Aluminum chassis of the Z4 remains, as does the 3,0-liter six-cylinder (M54B30), the tight one 231 PS and 300 Nm torque produced, coupled to one Six-speed automatic. Particularly noteworthy are the tires in the 225/40/18 format, which are mounted on classic Wire spoke wheels are mounted. And what also makes the Wami Lalique Spyder unique is its interior: it is the first vehicle with one Lalique interior and -Crystals, created by glass artist and jeweler René Lalique. Lalique, synonymous with exquisite glass design since 1888, was famous for his glass figures, which once... Radiator hoods decorated. The rich heritage is reflected in the Wami Spyder through handcrafted Lalique crystals which are produced in the traditional Lalique factory in Wingen-sur-Moder. From the Wami Lalique Spyder should only 12 pc be built, offering customers between four colors, including Amalfi Red and Mediterranean Light Blue, can choose. However, the price of the special Z4 in retro guise remains Ares' secret.
