Than the Nissan GT-R Nismo Z Tune (R34) came onto the scene in 2003, it wasn't just another vehicle in Nissan's lineup. It was an instant legend, born to quicken the pulse of car enthusiasts worldwide. With only 19 copies built worldwide, the Z-Tune was more than a car; It was a pearl in the car world, characterized by exclusivity and perfect engineering performance. The Z Tune was basically the completion of the Skyline era. And Nissan didn't just take the easy route of tuning! They practically converted the car into a new one, based on meticulously selected, rarely driven GT-Rs.

The centerpiece was of course that RB26DETT block of the in-line six-cylinder, which went from 2,6 to 2,8 liters was drilled out, which gave him a perfect foundation to handle racing-like power output. At the heart of the Z-Tune pulsed a newly integrated IHI Turbo, which ensured the required oxygen supply while High performance injectors and a more powerful high-pressure pump ensured that the engine could quench its thirst. At the same time, however, the Engine structure strengthened and optimized with a new one crankshaft, duals camshafts and forged piston, which were designed to handle the increased load with ease.
500 hp (368 kW) and 540 Nm torque
The Z-Tune also had improved fans and Intercooler and a meticulously customized one at that Headers. The integration of two oil coolers ensured that the engine remained “cool” even at peak performance. Translated into numbers, the Z-Tune was able to produce an output of 500 PS (368 kW) and a maximum torque of 540 Nm achieve what was an insane increase compared to the standard 280 hp (206 kW) and 391 Nm of the “normal” GT-R. The sheer power made it possible to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under four seconds and a Top speed of 327 km/h to reach. Even today these are still TOP values!
First-class components from Sachs and Brembo
To control the power pack and ensure it delivers power to the road as efficiently as possible, Nissan engineers designed the Z-Tune with a Carbon shaft drive and a specially programmed one All-wheel drive system equipped with a rear-heavy orientation. And also on the topic suspension and brakes No compromises have been made, with first-class components from Sachs and Brembo.
Today it stands GT-R Nismo Z Tune not only as the most powerful and expensive Skyline in the history books, but also as an impressive demonstration of Nissan's technical prowess. The vehicle, in particular the Z-Tune model number 9, which was for sale in 2016 for a mere 500.000 euros, and another that changed hands in 2022 for almost two million euros, are not only automotive icons, but also testaments to the immortal engineering skills and Nissan's vision.
