According to various information online, Mercury Japan and Nissan probably have a contract for the new production of a small edition of SR20DET four cylinders closed. The SR20DET was built by Nissan between 1989 and 2003 and was particularly popular in the S13, S14 and S15 Silvia models. While the turbocharged four-cylinder wasn't quite as well known and coveted as the RB26 from the Skyline, it's not far behind either. Supposedly, Mercury Japan should only 30 new SR20DET engines are emerging and of them only 3 to 4 pieces per month. Details on the manufacturing process are to follow, but the first reservations for the new engines can probably be given up as early as September.

The costs are included approximately $ 9.300 but expectedly high. And it is said that racing teams even have priority over normal customers. So it could be difficult for a "normal" to catch such an engine. Nissan has made many fans happy in recent years by restoring various parts for some classic vehicles. The program started at the end of 2017 with the first parts for the legendary Skyline R32 GT-R and one year later components for the GT-Rs of the R33 and R34 series followed.
