VW T5 from 0-100km / h in around 13 seconds? We know that from the T5 bus! VW T5 from 0-100km / h in -> 4,9 seconds? We don't know that yet! The tuning project from TH Automobile & CarHifi-Berlin makes it possible. They bring us a T5 bus with up to 700PS and a V-Max of 280km / h. This achievement was achieved by installing high-quality Porsche parts. From the outside you don't actually see it, a few wider rims and a bit more sporty but all in all not anymore. But it goes under the sheet metal.
The tuners decided to simply remove a piece from the rear of the VW T5 TH2 and, as is customary at Porsche, to transplant the engine from a Porsche 911 (Porsche 911er 997 Turbo). The 3,8l with tight 480PS / 620NM torque is thus the basis. With this engine in the back of the Bulli goes in 15 seconds on Tempo 200! Note here the Cw value of the proverbial cabinet wall.
Two water-cooled intercoolers and a manifold ensure the enormous power development in the VW T5 TH2. What used to be the engine compartment of the T5 is now the 100 liter tank. If you want even more than the 480PS, you can still have the engine tuned properly and tickle out up to 700PS. You also have the choice between manual and automatic transmission as well as rear or all-wheel drive.
TH Automobile also installed its own brake system which is equipped with six-piston calipers and 370 or 390 millimeter brake discs on the front axle and four-piston calipers and 350 mm discs on the rear axle. The whole load finally wants to be slowed down. A coilover kit developed by H&R is also installed and thus allows foolproof driving. The one from the 911 has also found its place and thus the T5 can roar at the push of a button.
