The BMW M2 G87 has already made a name for himself with his performance. The powerhouse with a six-cylinder in-line engine has shown in various comparisons that it has what it takes to be a champion. Even if the one currently installed in the M2 S58 is a bit slowed down, he definitely has the potential to do even more. It finally shows itself in the M3 and M4 maximum 550 hp, while the exclusive 3.0CSL delivers a whopping 560 hp. But now it gets exciting: According to BMWblog.com, we “could” be looking forward to a Power upgrade of 20 hp, which puts the G87 on tight 480 horses would catapult. Sure, you could say that some G87 models are already running at this level of performance due to dispersion, but officially they still are 460 PS. And the +20 hp version would of course also be diversified and perhaps even enable an unofficial 500 hp mark.

But don't worry, if you want more performance without tuning, you'll get exactly what you need at the end of 2025: the upcoming one BMW M2 CS (G87) is expected to be the magical one 500 hp limit and offer some additional features for even better performance. And as icing on the cake, it could even come with an M2 M xDrive all-wheel drive give.
