Ferraris first electric car sounds like it has a V8 under the hood. But of course that is not the case. However, the head of the brand, Benedict Vigna, already announced that Ferrari's electric cars will have special “Sound Signatures” will have.
The Italians are working hard on their first fully electric car, which is due to hit the market next year.
Ferrari with electric car sound
Photos that have appeared online show a prototype with ridiculous-looking, makeshift tailpipes, covered in lots of aluminum foil. And thanks to the YouTube video from Acriore We partly know what an electric Ferrari might sound like.
The test vehicle sounds like a real V8, although the yellow warning sticker point out that it is an electric test vehicle. This seems to be in line with the statement made by Benedetto Vigna, who mentioned earlier this year that Ferraris as EV “not quiet” will be and their own Sound Signatures A patent for the EV sound has even been filed for 2023.
Sounds are mandatory!
By law, EVs must have some kind of noise generator, usually in the form of a loudspeaker under the body, to warn pedestrians. The Italians apparently don't want to just use a boring hum and are therefore working on imitating the sound of a combustion engine. The performance EV, whose name is still unknown, is expected to be available from next year at a price of over $ 500.000 (Source: Reuters). Photo credit: Acriore
