There are many ways to tune the interior of a vehicle. One of them represents the pedals of a vehicle, which are usually equipped with black relatively unobtrusive pedals in the series. Since it lends itself right now, that it creates a hand here and equips them with sport pedals with more eye-catching design.
Sport pedal set made of aluminum
The pedals of this type have a formula 1 Touch. Sports pedal sets are virtually the racing sportswear for the pedals, which sometimes does something good for the feet. Really more effective, better or absolutely necessary they are compared to the pedals from the factory but not. But as usual: The eye eats with it!
Assembly of sports pedal sets
The Sport Pedal Sets are universally available for all vehicles but also for certain brands, such as for Audi, BMW or Mercedes and VW. The Sport Pedal Sets can be easily mounted. There is no drilling necessary. The sporty design is available for vehicles with gearshift but also for vehicles with automatic transmission and corresponding pedals. In the sets, one switch has three pedals for clutch, brake pedal and accelerator pedal, and an automatic vehicle receives the set without a clutch pedal. The pedal set is supplied with the appropriate mounting material.
Necessity of a registration
Sport Pedal Sets must be entered by an expert reviewer. Therefore, when purchasing Sport Pedal Sets, you should always make sure that you have a TÜV certificate or, better yet, a General operating permit (ABE) is available. If no documents are available, either an expensive individual acceptance must be carried out or the vehicle's operating license expires.
Provider of Sport Pedal Sets
There are quite a few suppliers of sports pedal sets. These range from ATU to Di&Mi, EBTools, MT, Eufab, and Foliatec to WISMEC. Pedal sets also come directly from car manufacturers. TRD (Toyota Racing Development) and Mercedes-AMG have such sets. The price range also extends from the lower double-digit range to the higher three-digit amounts. Exceptions prove the rule here too.
Variants of Sport Pedal Sets
Usually you get the Sport Pedal Sets in black / silver but also in other color combinations. Some vendors, such as Eufab and Foliatec, have rubber elements implemented on the pedals to make them slip-resistant. For vehicles with automatic transmission, there are, as already mentioned, also Sport Pedal Sets. These also contain a footrest. As a rule, the Sport Pedal Sets are only intended for a specific handlebar variant. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to whether the sports pedal sets for left or right-hand drive vehicles are designed.
Rubber coverings / pedal rubbers / pedal lining
In addition to sports pedal sets, rubber covers are also available as so-called rubber running boards, which are simply slipped over the pedals. These are usually only available in black. The rubber covers are vehicle or model specific. For the rubber coverings no registration is necessary. The price for rubber covers is relatively low, matching rubber covers are available under ten euros. The meaning behind this variant, however, is at most the replacement of worn pedals. More beautiful the rubber parts are usually not. And then there is also the complete racing pedals. All information is available in our article "A racing pedals in the car? We have the information!".
