Correct behavior at red, yellow or green traffic lights in traffic is learned in childhood. But when the residents of Hildesheim suddenly one blue colour discovered at one of the traffic lights in the city, this aroused general amazement. We explain what the new traffic light sign means and how you should behave. Anyone who is on the road with their bike in Hildesheim has recently come across a blue traffic light. The city administration has explained what the new traffic light color means. The new traffic light color lights up at an intersection in the north of the city, for example, together with the classic red light of the traffic light and disappears when the traffic light changes to green. According to an employee of the city administration, who is also responsible for the traffic light control of the city, the blue signal, which sits at the top of the traffic light, should signal the cyclists, that they were recognized and that it was about to switch to green for the cyclists.
not intended for drunk cyclists ...
- How to behave at a red or green traffic light is usually learned as a child.
- There are now blue traffic lights in Hildesheim.
Thus the new traffic light color is not "for drunk cyclists“Made, as many jokingly speculated on the net in the last few days. Since the city had to replace the traffic lights at the intersection in question anyway, it took the opportunity to install the new system. The city reacted to the criticism of numerous cyclists who always had to share a lane with the cars and never had a chance to get to the traffic lights. Overall, the costs for the entire renovation of the traffic lights at this intersection amounted to 55.000 Euros. The installation of the new traffic light color, however, only cost 50 euros.
