No end in sight! Another supplier to the auto industry is insolvent. The auto industry in Germany is shaken by a new insolvency almost every day: The Mürdter Group from Mutlangen, a well-known supplier to the industry, has filed for insolvency. Both Mürdter Werkzeug- und Formenbau GmbH and Mürdter Metall- und Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH are affected. Mürdter Group insolvency
The insolvency administration is in the hands of the law firm SGP Schneider Geiwitz & Partner. Patrick Währen, graduate in business administration, is responsible for Mürdter Werkzeug- und Formenbau GmbH, while Arndt Geiwitz, auditor, is leading the proceedings at Mürdter Metall- und Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH. However, the future of the employees, which at the last count was around 280 in Mutlangen and 585 in total, remains uncertain.
Interestingly, the Xandor Mürdter Automotive GmbH, which belongs to the British Quantum Capital Partners which Mürdter Group had only taken over in 2021. Nevertheless, the company could not be stabilized. Although the exact causes of the insolvency have not yet been fully clarified, experts suspect that the economic problems of the car industry played a major role. The fate of the employees, whose future now hangs in the balance, is just as uncertain as the future of the company.

The incidents highlight the difficult situation in the industry, which apparently also proved to be the downfall of the Mürdter Group. And the fact that the previous managing directors, who had successfully led the company for over 30 years, were unable to find a successor, further exacerbated the situation.
