Toyota is known for its robust and reliable cars, especially when it comes to SUVs and off-road vehicles. And even though the 2025 model year is just around the corner with new products such as the Camry Hybrid and the 4Runner, the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser still provides plenty of material for discussion.
But what if someone who hardly ever drives off-road buys the legendary off-road vehicle and upgrades it extensively? So that it becomes significantly better off-road, even if it will probably never see dirt and mud! Sounds strange, but it's true!
Westcott Toyota Land Cruiser
The owner of this car admits, "not really much off-road driving", but has had a massive off-road conversion carried out. Instead of choosing a more practical RAV4 or Highlander, he opted for the current land Cruiser – and that was just the beginning. Through the collaboration with Westcott Designs, a well-known tuner from Arizona, he transformed the SUV into a real show car.
With a 2 inch (approx. 5 cm) Höherlegung, With 10 Rigid Industries LED lights front of the roof and two on the rear-view mirrors, a massive Roof rack, steps and various protective devices for the windows, the Japanese car has been massively upgraded. Particularly striking: the yellow Method Wheels rims and Offroad slippers, which in combination with the Ice Cap paint in white provide a particularly cool contrast.

Despite its fierce appearance, the land Cruiser in social media quickly as “Mall Crawlers” - a car that is more designed for the parking lot or the ice cream parlor than for off-road use. But not everyone agrees, and I do too. Some see the conversion as a creative project in which every new part is perfectly coordinated. The result almost looks like a LEGO Technic Modelthat was brought to life.
And the conversion is guaranteed to be much more effective off-road too! The story of this land Cruiser shows once again how polarizing a car can be. For some it remains an off-road king, for others it is more of a city cruiser. But no matter which side you are on – one thing is certain: with the right mods, the land Cruiser always an eye-catcher.
