Reliant Motor Company

DThe company Reliant was a British car manufacturer. The company was founded in Tamworth (Staffordshire), 1935, developed and produced tricycles for 65 years. The decision to focus solely on these tricycles had tax implications - because in the UK, these types of vehicles had a special status and a very low tax rate in contrast to the "normal" cars. Also for the then tuning scene, such a tricycle was perfect for creative projects. However, Reliant has completely ceased production and has only been active as a vehicle importer since 2001. That's why Reliant vehicle tuning tunables are not that easy to buy. Next to the Reliant Robin the best-known model was the Reliant Regal Supervan III, which was mainly used as a courier and delivery vehicle. This has also been used in some film productions, such as 1981 in the multi-award-winning television series "Only Fools and Horses", but also in the more popular series Mr. Bean or Top Gear. With the "Reliant Scimitar SS1 1300" model, the company also launched a four-wheeled vehicle.
