Warren Monks originally ran a company in Doncaster that made glass. But with Edna Gardom, the production of the first automobiles and kits began in 1968. The brand name Volksrod (Hartsdale Services) was created in 1970 when David Taylor took over the entire company and Edna Gardom entrusted the management of the vehicle division. In 1971 he surprisingly took over the company, which then traded as Volksrod Concessionaires (UK). Further takeovers followed until 2002 when Stuart Hopewell rejoined the company and production has been running ever since (as of 06.2019).
