The name Isdera is actually an abbreviation. Isdera stands for engineering office for styling, design and racing and is a German company for the manufacture of automobiles founded in Leonberg in 1982. Since 2016 the company has been based in Saarwellingen, a municipality in Saarland. Well-known vehicles from the past are the Isdera Erator GTE MKI to MKIII from 1969, the Isdera Commendatore 112i and the Isdera Commendatore GT from 2018. The latter is a 2 + 2-seater fully electric coupe with two electric motors with 300 kW each and a battery with 100 kWh capacity. The Isdera Commendatore GT already impressed in 2018 with built-in 800-volt technology. Until today (as of 2020) the Isdera Commendatore GT, which incidentally was built in cooperation with WM Motors, has not made it into series production.
