Hillman

The company name Hillmann hides a long history of driving and tuning. It started with the bike and took his new run towards the car with the motorization. The inventor and engineer William Hillman had quickly developed a fondness for cars and car tuning. The British company was based in Coventry. Originally, Hillman started with sewing machines to earn his daily bread. 1907 founded William Hillman with designer Louis Hervé Coatalen, previously Chief Engineer at Humber, the Hillman Coatings Motor Company. 1910 has rewritten the name of the company on Hillman Motor Company. Louis Hervé Coatalen went to Sunbeam. It was then built mid-size sedans. The most famous model was the Hillman Minx and the Super Minx. 1928 became Rootes Ltd. with 60% principal owner of the Hillman company. By the end 2006 was adopted by the Rootes Group Peugeot 206 SW produces. After the factory closed, the factory was released for demolition at the end of 2007.
