Tuning van from back then: Mercedes T 1 from Brabus & Lorinser!

Photos by Brabus among others

Do you know the Mercedes T 1 (also referred to as TN = New Transporter)? It was the first pickup truck that Daimler-Benz had developed itself and the predecessor model was that Harburg transporter. Built from 1977 to 1995, the angular bus was even included Brabus tuning. So the team from Bottrop had next to that Brabus MB 100 D yet another tuned bus at the beginning. At the time there was one Sprinter or to one Viano far from thinking. And the Brabus T1 is extremely rare. Because only a handful of vehicles were equipped with the tuning parts from Brabus in the 80s. While in almost 20 years of construction there were a total of almost 1 million T 1 as station wagons, panel vans, tippers, minibuses, flatbed or just as a bare chassis, vehicles are with Brabus fender flares, Rims in body color, etc. extremely rare. As for the MB 100 D linked at the beginning, Brabus also had one for the T 1 Front apron attachment with fog lights on offer and on request there was all-round fender flares and as a visual highlight those painted in the color of the car Cross-spoke rims with broad Slippers and white tire writing all around.

The panel van with the Brabus tuning was a little bit (especially with the white tire writing) to the German GMC Vandura from A-Team mutated. And even Interior one had laid hands. The T 1 could be fitted out luxuriously and so there was one upon request Refrigerator, a new Sound system and opposite positioned Verlours seats with armrests. Just one engine tuning did not exist back then. Although the M 102 (102.946) petrol engine from the 210/310 and 410 model built up to 1995 certainly more than the factory ones 105 PS and 182 Nm Torque would have allowed. With classic Naturally aspirated engine tuning 130 PS and a good 210 NM would certainly have been possible.

Lorinser also refined the bus

And the tuner Lorinser also pimped up the bus. Visually even more extreme. There was a bodykit with a powerful front apron and a radiator grill with Vfour individual headlights and are here too fender flares and see new rims. The photo vehicle also has cuddly soft seats and a kind Motorhome rear extension. For such a vehicle you would have to throw a lot of money and wait a long time. If we get more information about the changes at the time for the T 1, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
