Crazy „Vrarva IO“ based on the kei car Suzuki Hustler!

In Japan they have been an integral part of the streets for decades and due to their tiny dimensions, they are perfect for getting from A to B as quickly as possible in the densely populated metropolises in the Land of Smiles. The small kei cars exude a lot of charm and can usually be equipped with various luxury and high-end features. This means that every fan of this type of vehicle can create their own personal small luxury automobile, which does not have to hide from the big ones in terms of equipment. Of course, the enormous popularity of these dwarves also brings many tuners onto the scene and presents their very own interpretations of these vehicles. One of them is the IO from the Japanese tuning company Vrarva, which is based on the Suzuki Hustler based. We would now like to introduce you to this modified tiny thing in more detail.

Suzuki Hustler as Vrarva IO

No fundamental changes were made to the concept of this vehicle; it only received a few minor visual modifications. The custom body kit from Vrarva consists of a total of 9 components, which spices up the already robust appearance of the Suzuki. In detail, the kit at the front consists of a redesigned radiator grille with Vrarva emblems, a revised bumper and funny air inlets above the round headlights, which are intended to simulate eyebrows. At the rear, however, various unpainted plastic panels on the tailgate and bumper ensure a robust look. The Japanese also received special 15-inch aluminum rims on which off-road tires from Toyo called Open Country were mounted. Last but not least, a lift kit was installed to give the pseudo-off-roader more ground clearance.

The interior can be upgraded!

Of course, Vrarva doesn't just limit itself to refining the outer skin, but also offers modifications to the interior for an additional charge. For example, this can be done stalls Significantly upgrade it by covering it with higher quality fabric or leather.

658 cm³ must be enough

The drive source is a tiny three-cylinder turbo engine with just 658 cc, which generates 64 hp and less than 100 Newton meters of maximum torque. With the mild hybrid system, which is subject to a surcharge, an additional 2 hp is available, and at the same time the turbo engine's gasoline consumption drops by around 20 percent. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a continuously variable CVT transmission. All-wheel drive is also available as an option, which gives this model unexpected off-road capability.

Our conclusion:

  • A whopping 2.490.000 Japanese yen costs a complete vehicle of this type. That's the equivalent of around EUR 16.500. That's a lot of money for a car of this class, but you can also be sure that you're not driving an off-the-shelf kei car. As we all know, exclusivity comes at a price and we like this kit.

About Markus Castedo

I have had a passion for automobiles since early childhood, for example, as a child I owned more than 300 Matchbox cars. So you could say that cars have always been my passion, and that hasn't changed to this day. Of course, it was always very obvious that I wanted to have something to do with my greatest hobby professionally. Because I have a passion for extraordinary automobiles, I also began my career as a copywriter and blogger with an online blog for Chinese automobiles, which went online in 2018 but no longer exists. Because I find cars that you see on every corner boring, it came in handy when I wrote my first orders for tuningblog at the end of 2018 and have been expressing my passion for special automobiles there ever since. Of course, it gives me great pleasure to inform you every day about the latest tuning projects from all over the world.
