Is this the ultimate BMW E30 M3? Quite possible! The E30 M3 has been undisputedly one of the largest BMWs ever for decades. The legendary sports sedan is considered to be the inventor of the sporty family vehicles and has given the BMW M Division the go-ahead for building sporty, ambitious road vehicles. So can you steal the heart of an E30 M3? In the following video you can see an E30 M3 whose standard S14 4-cylinder has been thrown out and where the no less spectacular S54B32-S54 in-line six-cylinder from the E46 M3 is working. The engine with two overhead camshafts, double VANOS and 343 PS & 365 NM torque can be described as a similar milestone as the E30 M3.
S14 out and S54 in
With the four-cylinder under the bonnet, the E30 M3 was extremely light-footed and agile and was more fun to drive than any other in this vehicle class. And the 192 hp of the robust S14 4-cylinder with catalytic converter were also quite sufficient. But the maximum 8.000 rpm of the E46 is a different world. And the S54 of the E46 also fits perfectly under the hood of the E30 M3. In addition, the BBS Alus, a sports suspension, a few tuning parts from Dinan & Co. and the fact that it is still a manual switch. What more do you want? We therefore find the motorswap successful!
