1971 Chevy Camaro "Infrared" Restomod - A dream for US car fans.

Restomods are absolutely trendy at the moment, because there are currently a lot of oldtimers that are tuned after the restoration and equipped with modern technology. So is this 1971 Chevrolet Camaro, which is named "Infrared“Was baptized, rebuilt from the ground up, and countless dollars and man hours went into the overhaul of the classic. The Camaro had already been restored in 1980, and has since won various prizes at US car shows before it was converted into an absolute beast by its current owner, Steve Aguilar. At first it was only planned to install a new suspension (chassis) in the Camaro, but as with every Restomod project, things were gradually changed that make the Camaro, which has already been awarded numerous prizes, an absolutely unique show car, namely the "Infrared" .

Modifications to the body & interior

Before it came into the hands of Steve Aguilar, the Camaro was blue, and had a blue interior, and it's hard to believe that the formerly blue Camaro became a red monster, which has a European-inspired interior with red instruments, which shows a lot of brushed nickel parts. The special plexiglass, which is used instead of the normal panes, was specially made in Jordan, as no tuning company in the USA was able to produce such a glass for the Camaro. The engine block was also kept completely in red and is a highlight. In addition, there are chic HRE aluminum rims on the vehicle, which were kept entirely in black and have a central motorsport lock. In addition, the entire rear bumper has been redesigned and a carbon splitter is attached to the front, which gives the car even more character in the Trans-Am style. However, the absolute highlight of the Camaro is the steering wheel, which does not close completely at the bottom, but has a similarity to the brand logo from Infiniti.

Power in abundance is a matter of course

It is clear that such a Restomod Camaro is not fired by a standard engine, and so all registers were drawn in the engine compartment, and not only with the unique look of the engine block, but also in terms of performance. Powered by an LSX small block V8 from the GM shelf, which was drilled to 7,4 liters, the unique Camaro delivers 600 HP and a brute 800 Newton meters of maximum torque. Combined with a 6-speed manual transmission from Tremec, it becomes the ultimate driver's car. Unfortunately, we don't know anything about acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h, at times on the quarter mile, and the top speed, but this Restomod-Camaro should certainly scare some modern super sports cars.

It is an unsaleable one-off.

Every car fan will certainly have tears in their eyes when they learn that this 1971 Camaro is not for sale and that it therefore remains in the hands of its owner. It is also not clear whether the modifications are already the end of the story or whether Steve Aguilar comes up with a few more things to further refine his darling.
